The 2019 Baker Doubles Tournament took place on Sunday October 27, 2019. This year the event drew 52 teams.  First timers Chun Bae and Scott Kampf made the trip up from Long Island and qualified in 7th place.  They then rode a 7-1 match play record to the top and claimed the 2019 title.

Teams bowled 8 games of qualifying with 1 in 6 advancing to round robin match play.  Pins from qualifying carried over to match play.  Eight teams made the cut into the match play portion of the tournament.  In match play teams bowled 1 game matches with the winner receiving 30 bonus pins while teams that tied got 15 bonus pins each.  Total wood at the end of match play determined the winner and all final standings.

We had teams from Watertown, Utica, Kingston, Long Island, Vermont, Canada as well many local competitors.

Low to cash was $430.  The eight teams that advanced to match play all cashed.

Del Picard and his partner, Jimmy Pritts shot the only 300 game of the day.  They did it in the final game of qualifying.  Jeff Young and Connor LeClair had a 298 game on their way to making the cut.

Last year’s champions, Richard and Rebekah VanScoyk finished in 20th this year.

There were two 900 series bowlers in the event.  Robert Mushtare and Jon Wilbur both made match play with their respective partners.
