Baker Doubles Tournament

Phil Drumm (L) and Ryan Galli (R) are presented their ceremonial winners check from KPA proprietor, Doug Bohannon. Galli and Drumm led wire to wire this year to take home the $1700 top prize.

The 2020 Baker Doubles Tournament took place on Sunday October 18, 2020.

30 teams entered this year which is down largely due to the ongoing COVID-19 restrictions.

Qualifying was the normal 8 games with teams moving after each game.  The team of Ryan Galli and Phil Drumm dominated the qualifying round as they led by 225 pins heading into match play.  They also shot a 300 in game 6.

This year six teams advanced to match play.  All pins from qualifying carried over to the match play portion.  Match play is a round robin format with each team bowling each other once before a final position round game.  All matches were one game with the winner receiving 30 bonus pins.  Any tie game and teams each got 15 bonus pins.

Total wood at the end of match play determined the final standings.  With such a large lead heading into match play, Galli and Drumm went 4-2 and ended up winning by a 303 pin margin.  They took home $1700 for their efforts.

Galli and Drumm are not new to winning at KPA.  Back in February they took home the Super Bowl Doubles title.
